Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in private and not with general public (community members) as required by law.
As a CRA registered charity, the organization is required to hold an AGM with the community, general public and members. Every donor is a member. Have you ever been invited to one of the AGM’s? Has your voice ever been heard? Have you ever been given a say or a vote?
Read the first line. MEMBERS ONLY. Are you the MEMBER?
It would be helpful if you were familiar with CRA rules regarding charities. Every donor is a member. And in the larger view, every person praying at this masjid is a member, whether they are given their membership rights or not. And yes, we are members of the community. Along with the scores of people who have signed the petition asking for transparency.
very well said
I can’t find any article which require charity organization to help public meeting. Can you be more specific where you get that information from.

In times of global crises, business is not as usual. Under Canadian law, non-for-profit corporations must call an annual meeting of members every year within certain strict timelines. An ongoing war or global pandemic may impact your organization’s ability to call an annual meeting within the required time frames. Thankfully, federal corporations can apply to Corporations Canada for an exemption to extend this time.
Helloooo the pandemic was over 2 years ago 😂
This comment reinforces the fact that you are clearly unfit to be in the management. I’d be happy help enlighten you. It’s quite concerning that directors/management don’t even know basic CRA requirements.
How does the pandemic, which has finished, not affect the Jummah prayer, taraweeh, funding raising, Sunday school and other activities that are occurring and on going.
Ironically I wondered a few months ago why there isn’t any annual financial statements posted.
I appreciate the fact that someone if questioning this.
